Hi folks, i’m Katie! Im a small town girl now living in the mighty mountains of Chamonix!
I love to travel, to do adventure sports and hiking, to sing, to be creative and to create handmade treasures!
I also love food and dancing, as well as cosy nights by an open fire with my favourite glass of red!`
But, Above All…
Ive always loved and am incredibly passionate about photography, its ability to tell a story and its emotive power!
During my photographic and political studies I was fascinated by how photography told the story of War, conflict, social unrest and struggle. I realised the great importance of photography to document these times to remember what happened, so we can learn and grow.
Documenting the coming together of two people who love each other has to be just as important, it shows us the power of love and connection! It signifies the beginning of a journey, and the legacy these two people will create and leave perhaps for generations to come.
I love LOVE. I feel it overflowing in my veins and I am so inspired and passionate to photograph those who have found it and cherish it too.
I also love nature, especially when it manifests itself in mountains, the ocean, the desert, the jungle! These unique and dynamic environments provide the perfect powerful backdrops to compliment and enhance the powerful statements of love when a couple say their vows to get married.
When I'm not photographing weddings and couples, I continue to shoot personal work which always enriches my wedding photography too. I have a specialised infrared camera which transcends the landscape to another dimension! (farrawaypeaks.com)
Why Elopements & Micro Weddings?
I shoot small weddings and elopements primarily, I love the intimacy and detail that larger weddings sometimes lack.
I understand the pressure and expectations that often surround big weddings, and I want to support those brave couples who choose something different. A Wedding should be a day to be your truest selfs, to feel safe, loved and free in expression. I believe it should be a day unique and completely personal to you, celebrated in a way that means the most to you and your partner.
My photographic style is such that I wish to be as unobtrusive as possible, to let things unfold naturally and capture authentic moments.
Sometimes I shoot just one incredible day with a couple and sometimes we shoot across several days, travelling and adventuring together capturing different locations and amazing moments along the way.
Either way I love couples that are laid back and adventurous, and perhaps don’t mind getting the dress a little dirty!
